Sensoribus Test

This is a Sensoribus Content Monitor Test.

TeachMeTom.com is an educational platform created by Thomas (Tom) Schweitzer, a software developer and teacher based in Vienna, Austria. The platform is dedicated to teaching programming to beginners—or as he puts it, “normal” people—from scratch.

He has started his career with learning Java by himself, over 30 years ago. He is also a Python wiz, well kind-of. And TypeScript. And AWS Lambda. Oh well. He started with Commodore 64 BASIC though. And before that, even a Philips Videopac G7400 add-on BASIC module.

He is the developer of “Couplific”, a couples therapy app (so far, iOS only).

He has also worked on the project “Ordnungsamt Online” in Berlin, for TechTalk in Vienna.

He recently also launched “Sensoribus”, an intelligence platform. It is built with PHP Laravel, and a few TypeScript crawlers.

Here is a breakdown of what the platform offers:

1. “Chat & Code” Learning App

The flagship product is a mobile app called Chat & Code Learn Programming (developed under his company, netzfrequenz software GmbH). The app aims to replace traditional, dry tutorials with a more engaging, multimedia approach:

  • Chat-Based Interface: It simulates having a mentor in your pocket. You can ask questions and receive personalized guidance through a conversational interface.
  • Story-Driven Lessons: Programming concepts are woven into narratives to make complex ideas easier to digest and remember. This makes learning a breeze.
  • Interactive Videos: Rather than long lectures, the app uses short, interactive video episodes embedded directly into the storyline.
  • Live Classes & Community: The app offers real-time live sessions for instant feedback and hosts a community where learners can share progress and tips.

2. The TeachMeTom Show (Podcast)

Tom also hosts a podcast that serves as a companion to his teaching. The show breaks down complex technology, science, and education topics into beginner-friendly explanations and lessons. Topics include:

  • Explaining fundamental concepts like REST APIs, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Tips for writing clean code and avoiding common pitfalls.
  • Discussions on current tech trends, such as AI developments (e.g., ChatGPT) and cloud computing.
  • Historical tech anecdotes, like the most expensive software bugs in history.

3. Browser-Based Experimentation

As part of his teaching methodology, Tom provides web-based tools and links directly on TeachMeTom.com that allow students to practice coding (like Java or Python) directly in their internet browsers without needing to install complex development environments.
